Borinqueneers Celebration
The National Borinqueneers Day event was a social gathering dedicated to honoring the legacy and contributions of the 65th Infantry Regiment, a historic Puerto Rican unit of the U.S. Army. This celebration recognized their bravery, sacrifices, and pivotal role in America’s military history, particularly in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.
The event brought together veterans, military officials, community leaders, and supporters to reflect on the Borinqueneers' service and to reinforce a positive image of Puerto Ricans in the United States. Through speeches, historical presentations, and cultural showcases, attendees paid tribute to these courageous soldiers and their lasting impact on both the military and Puerto Rican identity.
Beyond commemoration, the event also fostered unity, pride, and awareness of Puerto Rican heritage, strengthening the recognition of their contributions to American society. The celebration served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the Borinqueneers and the importance of preserving their legacy for future generations.
